Spiral Bound Creations Canes
All wood collected by Spiral Bound Creations is saved from assured destruction in high development areas.  This is my way of saving some posterity for the woods and farms I once walked as an adventurous child.  Each staff and wand is blessed and remembered before it is cut either live or dead.  They are all cured for at least 8 months before I begin the finishing process to ensure minimal checking and splitting.  Many are selected and stripped of their bark while green and soaked in boiled linseed oil.  This slows the drying process and allows me to ponder it's next phase of creation.  Most are scraped and oiled several times before the final stages of last scraping, multiple sandings, and final application of linseed oil.  They then cured several additional weeks before a final sanding and application of tung oil.  Usually two or more coats of tung oil are applied to give a nice sheen and hard finish
